I believe the PurgEye to be one of the best if not the best residual oxygen detector instruments on the market with its digital residual oxygen level LED display readouts measuring as low as 0.01 % and its large user friendly viewing screen making it easier for me to read. I also believe the PurgEye to have a great accuracy of residual oxygen with speedy measurement's being displayed within seconds. The PurgEye is a far cry from the old school home made "use a cigarette lighter" to check purge gas flow system.  

Near to completing 6" and 4" stainless steel pipe work at British Sugar, we used the PurgElite from 'Huntingdon Fusion Techniques' which was a great success saving us both time and gas. The 40" purge bags we purchased some 2 years ago have been worth their weight in gold to us in the construction phases of the large project we are coming to a close with. The 40" was always going to be problematic but the system we had worked perfectly.

A customer asked this: "Anyone experience poor shielding phenomenon with purging Super Duplex Piping on large bore vs. small bore?" Another customer answered: "With the O2 at 0.4% and the correct flow rate you will get a NORSOK heat tint A root. Rons purge dams work because they reduce the volume of the pipe. Huntington Fusion also make dams that work. Try to keep your Dams 300 to 400mm apart and ensure you have enough flow rate, you may need to use 2 x purge lines oh yes 99.99% Ar not welding grade. Hope this helps."

I am a huge fan of the Huntingdon products and have talked others over the years into using them. The purge meters are second to none. I own and use regularly my PurgEye 100 and my PurgEye 300. In fact I think somewhere I still have my original Argweld® MKV monitor which sadly no longer powers up. Excellent product guys!
